Nope, lié à la famille royale shi’ar, et potentiellement le fils de D’Ken et Katherine Summers, ce qui en ferait un autre frère Summers caché… mais qui en fait ne s’appelle Summers !

Sûrement pour « rassurer » les X-Fans échaudés par Hickman, oui.
En utilisant des auteurs « anciens », sur des périodes passées, avec donc grosso-modo zéro interférence dans le présent, Marvel « donne » ici du X-Men à l’ancienne aux lecteurs troublés par Dawn of X, en laissant Hickman & Co. continuer ce qu’ils veulent.

Chacun a, alors, ce qu’il veut.

On suit finalement la logique développé depuis quelques années avec des mini ou des one-shots (principalement sur Spider-Man jusque-là) situés dans le passé, avec si possible des auteurs ou artistes emblématiques qui reviennent faire un tour.

Si Marvel arrive à se rabibocher avec John Byrne un jour, qui sait… Après à voir aussi ça n’aurait pas des répercussions inattendues de créer un tel précédent en canonisant un travail qui dans les fait relève du « fan art ».

Trouvé dans la partie consacrée à X-Men: Hidden Years dans l’excellente FAQ du site de John Byrne (où je me suis à nouveau perdu depuis un petit moment maintenant…) :

Did you see this series as something that would have been finite, eventually ending (kind of like Gaiman’s Sandman)? Were you planning on telling all of the tales of the Hidden Years, between the cancellation of the first series and eventually ending with GIANT-SIZED X-MEN #1?

JB: Between X-MEN 66 and GIANT-SIZED X-MEN 1 we saw several appearances by the X-Men in books such as CAPTAIN AMERICA, AMAZING SPIDER-MAN and MARVEL TEAM-UP. I was using those appearances as benchmarks for my stories, figuring out how much I could comfortably fit between each, in order that I could tell new stories. (As you may have noticed, XHY covers only a couple of weeks of the X-Men’s lives – and that included the « jump » I did in the last issue, in order to take care of a few subplots.)

XHY was clearly finite, since G-SX-M was out there as an « end point » for my series, but the way I had it worked out, I could have easily done 100 issues or more before I had to send the team off to Krakoa.

Il ne donne pas un nombre précis, mais il a sans doute quelques idées non-exploitées (il raconte d’ailleurs comment raccourcissement des subplots avant que la série ne se termine un peu plus bas a provoqué une confusion dans un dialogue du #18).

Par contre j’aimerais bien un projet identique pour les Vengeurs. Y aurait sûrement des choses plus pertinentes à faire que le 3eme frère Summers.
