Mais ça se trouve c’est très bien perçu. Pour ma part le côté univers parallèle je kiffe donc je suis plutôt content de ses annonces (pour le moment).

Avec le dessin animé de batman à la même époque ce sont ces oeuvres qui m’ont fait accrocher à l’univers des comics ( merci canal + ). Quand je vois qu’en ce moment tout les matins sur france 4 t’as 2 à 3 heures de dessins animés comics ça me fait plaisir et me dit que ça va peut être contaminer une nouvelle génération de lecteurs.

Oh yeah. X-Force shows up in Chapter 5 of the Infinite Comic, issue #3 of the print edition…]. I’m really enjoying people’s excitement over this new X-Force team. We’ve basically recreated X-Force in the image of the era. While I’m a huge fan of the original X-Force run, the New Mutant graduates always felt, to me, very '80s despite their radical upgrades. I wanted our version to really look like something that someone would create with hindsight. So what’ve we got? Basically, it’s a team of Wolverines, y’know? It’s all the mutants with pretty cool powers going into it – with the exception of Angel… sorry – who’ve decided to use gigantic guns and swords instead.

The funny thing is that Cyclops is actually Chad’s favorite X-Man, so I think we’ve found a balance. The one thing we agreed on at the start, though, is that he is No Fun. For good or ill, he is all business, all the time – he’s never done anything but be an X-Man, so it’s really all he knows how to do. But that actually makes him really fun to write. You’ve got people flying around, cutting up robots with claws, blowing things up with explosive playing cards and shooting fireworks out of their hands, and then there’s this guy off to the side with his arms crossed insisting that none of this is cool or fun, it’s just The Job They Have To Do. He’s a hoot.

How do you not love Brood Ghost Rider? The challenge wasn’t in writing it, but in getting readers to like it – or at the very least, not roll their eyes at it. Having grown up on [Chris] Claremont’s dialogue and narration, it came pretty easy to us but I’m not sure modern fans expected that from the series, which kind of surprised us. So when that first page of #1 just unloads with all the captions, and the X-Men talking about their powers, I know a lot of folks took a second to acclimate to it.

I think the thing that we all like about those comics when we look back on them is just how big they went, you know? Like, to use your example, it’s not just the X-Men fighting the Brood, it’s not just the X-Men teaming up with Ghost Rider, it’s the X-Men fighting the Brood with Ghost Rider and Ghost Rider gets turned into an alien and oh, by the way, Gambit’s wife is there too – and y’all didn’t even know he was married. That’s part of the fun, just how those comics assault you with big ideas at every turn, and that’s what we’re really going for. We try to figure out what would be a big thing to throw at the X-Men and then try to make it bigger.

One of the most fun things about batting around plots for the miniseries was trying to think about all the stuff that came after the '90s, and trying to figure out what it would’ve looked like if they’d tried to do it with that team in that era. Pulling in Cassandra Nova and some of the elements of « E is for Extinction » was definitely the big one that we wanted to do, but there are a couple of others that you might see filtered through the '90s, too - I just can’t tell you which ones just yet.

I’ll go ahead and tell you, we’ve got a lot going on in the way of bad guys. Unlike the mini-series, where we had one villain (who was technically two) on Battleworld, we now have an open door to basically use whoever we want to use, which is incredible. That said, we’re not immediately going to guys like Mr. Sinister or Magneto, because there’s no shortage of stories with them. We’re starting off with some really terrific, underused baddies, and making sure readers don’t feel like they’re just reading « X-Men, the Greatest Hits » every month.
