Au-delà de sa rapidité (une des raisons pour lesquelles il a autant sévi à l’encrage), il me semble y avoir un semblant de logique concernant sa présence dans ce numéro (d’un côté un Vince Colletta associé aux romance comics et de l’autre une histoire axée « romance » avec la demande en mariage, suivie par cet événement dans un Annual sans Romita Jr). Le raisonnement peut se comprendre sans pour autant approuver le choix de Colletta (alors un des principaux supporters de Shooter).
Quelle sévérité avec JRsr décidément (même son combo 70’s avec Gil Kane ça ne passe pas chez toi ?).
Quelle prestations pour ce titre Man Whitout Fear.
Il est peut-être en baisse, mais ce passage est encore très bon, on sent le poids du building, le moment de faiblesse avant l’inévitable regain de puissance.
Ce dont Romita Jr est le plus fier dans sa carrière (ça et le numéro du 11 septembre).
Une partie graphique si réussie qu’elle est même plus inspirée que le scénario (l’auto-remake de Miller, forte source d’inspiration pour la version télévisuelle de DD).

Je suis pas fan de Gil Kane… Mais je supporte et je sais reconnaitre que c est un genie… mais c est raide, les visages… voilà.
Il fait partie avec Infnatino, Joe Kubert des artistes dont je sais que ce sont des genies mais qui ne me plaisent pas…
Romita Sr… je prefere sa periode 50’s sur Cap que ec qu il fait dans les 60’s… je sais pas si c est entretemps qu il passe sur le comics de romance mais son trait devient alors du « david hamilton » pour moi
Pour Coletta, je sais pourquoi il est employé… mais bon c est comme si au cinema on emploie un monteur rapide mais qui efface la moitié de strucs et qui donnerait à Vertigo ou au Chasseur l air d etre les feux de l amour…
Je crois que JR² est ma constance dans mes lectures. J’ai l’impression d’avoir grandi avec ses dessins, comme l’a été (jusqu’à sa mort) Bashung avec sa musique.
Den of Geek: With a newAmazing Spider-Man#1 coming out, what kind of story were we getting here, exactly? A new status quo or back to basics?
Zeb Wells: « I think it’s the status quo…that gets us back to basics, I guess. I definitely did want to dig into Spider-Man as a street level hero for the first arc, but I also wanted to shake up where he’s at. So we started with a mystery. We started six months after something big and pretty bad happened. Some of his relationships are fractured and we don’t know why, but we know something super intense happened. »
Speaking of classics, the first story arc deals with Spider-Man regular Tombstone. What is it that makes you gravitate towards this particular villain?
"He’s just one of the characters that had an arc from when I was growing up that stuck with me and really made an impact. I think of that arc where Tombstone is coming back to Robbie Robertson’s adult life and bullying him. He was such a scary character, but the bullying felt very real. If you’ve ever been bullied, it felt like it was tickling that damage in your head.
I think of in that first Tombstone arc, there’s this really creepy scene where Spider-Man tells him to leave Robbie alone and not kill him and Tombstone says, ‘Why would I kill him? He’s my only friend.’ This is after he’s made his life a living Hell this entire arc. I think that kind of weird, damaged psychology is something very engaging for me. I just thought he was scary."
