Pour compléter le sommaire de l’évènement Cataclysm: The Ultimates Last Stand, l’éditeur Marvel Comics publiera les mini-séries en 3 numéros Cataclysm: Ultimate Spider-Man, Cataclysm: Ultimates et Cataclysm: Ultimate X-Men en remplacement des séries Ultimate Comics Spider-Man, Ultimate Comics Ultimates et Ultimate Comics X-Men.
Si, sans surprise, les équipes artistiques régulières sont maintenues sur les deux premières mini-séries, Brian Wood laisse la destinée des mutants entre les mains de Joshua Hale Fialkov.
Pour rappel, Cataclysm fait suite à la mini-série Hunger où, suites aux manipulations excessives des héros sur le continuum espace-temps pour empêcher Ultron de détruire la Terre (Age of Ultron),** Galactus** débarque dans l’univers Ultimate pour satisfaire sa faim.
