Il a fait plusieurs numéros du Flash de Williamson récemment.
Un peu avant, il a fait aussi des Detective Comics de Tynion. Et au moins un Nightwing.
J’aime bien, mais je trouve ça un peu propre, presque laborieux. C’est pas Alvaro Martinez.

J’avais achevé mon avis sur le #1008 en disant que je m’arrêtais là… mais j’ai craqué en voyant les dessins de Christian Duce, en preview. Et bien m’en a pris, car je trouve que Peter J. Tomasi livre ici son meilleur récit depuis sa reprise du titre !
En s’intéressant aux horaires difficiles de Batman, qui ne peut se reposer après une nuit intense car il doit suivre une réunion et prendre un jet avec d’autres businessmen, Tomasi s’amuse avec des dialogues piquants d’un Bruce complètement dans son rôle de milliardaire suffisant et un peu branleur. Avec un Lucius Fox très drôle, un Alfred inspiré aussi ; et un événement choquant, lié à un Deadshot bien écrit.
L’auteur retrouve clairement de l’inspiration ici, dans un récit fort simple mais fort efficace, et surtout idéalement dialogué. Christian Duce livre des planches très jolies, un peu froides mais avec de beaux moments. Par contre, carton jaune pour la couverture complètement trompeuse… mais bon, l’épisode est très agréable, et je me suis surpris à me plaire de plus en plus au fil des pages. Allez, la curiosité reprend !

A la lecture de son run sur Detective Comics, je suis en droit de me demander si l’excellent Tomasi n’a pas fait le tour du personnage. Il tricote de petites intrigues depuis son premier arc pré-milestone qui dégagent peu de saveur. Il donne l’impression de forcer un peu les traits…
C’est l’impression que j’ai eue. J’ai lâché pour ça.
