JUDGE DREDD : MEGA CITY-ONE

Après les longs métrages avec Sylvester Stallone et Karl Urban, la justice va être rendue sur le petit écran.

L’éditeur de bandes dessinées et développeur de jeux vidéos Rebellion et le studio indépendant IM Global ont en effet officialisé la mise en chantier d’une série télévisée basée sur l’univers du Judge Dredd. Cette annonce intervient alors que le personnage sorti de l’imagination de John Wagner et Carlos Ezquerra fête cette année le 40ème anniversaire de sa création.

Le projet est encore dans les premiers stades du développement, il n’y a donc pour le moment pas encore d’acteurs et de chaîne attachés à la production de Judge Dredd : Mega City-One.

Après le film de 2012, Karl Urban a révélé récemment qu’il était en négociations pour reprendre le rôle du Juge Dredd dans la future série TV :

« I am in discussions with them about that. I told them that if they write the material and give Dredd something to do and give him a function, I will be there. I would love to. »

Discussions confirmées par l’un des producteurs, Jason Kingsley :

“We have been in discussions with Karl about his possible involvement in Judge Dredd: Mega-City One for some time. These conversations continue but we’re keen, he’s keen, it’s just a case of us making sure this show is everything we want it to be. his needs to be done right, the fans deserve it. Our team is working hard on scripts for the first season, creating engaging multi-thread storylines, one of which will be Dredd’s but others which take us into the wider world of Mega-City One.”
