Knight Terrors: Catwoman #1 is available on July 18 from Catwoman series writer Tini Howard and artist Leila Leiz (Mother of Madness). The first issue features a main cover and a 1:50 variant by Leiz, open-to-order variants by Tula Lotay and Corin Howell, a 1:25 variant by Dani, and a Midnight variant by Dustin Nguyen.

Tini Howard et Leila Leiz ne m’emballent pas dans cette intrigue qui tape clairement à côté. Rien n’est jamais dit sur le Royaume du Cauchemar, on a une Catwoman qui semble avoir « terrifié » Gotham et avoir été défigurée au passage, qui affronte sa soeur Maggie devenue une Super-Nonne (ah bon ?), et croise un Batman débutant qu’elle décide de former.
Ca n’a pas beaucoup de sens, et encore moins d’intérêt. Le scénario n’est pas prenant, c’est long et lourd, avec des dialogues poussifs. Le graphisme n’est pas top non plus, assez fade et lassant.
After rescuing Bruce from The Joker, Catwoman calls him Batman…to which he asks her how she knew that name, since he had only called himself that in his head. What year is it in this Gotham, why does The Joker have snakes for limbs, and can Sister Zero and Catwoman pray themselves out of this nightmare
C’est enfin fini.
Tini Howard achève faiblement un diptyque bien lourd. Ici, Selina vit un cauchemar surprenant, sans beaucoup de sens, où elle forme un jeune Batman pour stopper un jeune Joker, qui veut s’en prendre à sa sa soeur Maggie, nonne le jour et super-héroïne nonne le soir ; ouais, ouais. Bien sûr, ça tourne mal, et Selina finit par se sacrifier pour sauver la ville. Elle se réveille, et pense alors à une future guerre contre Batman, sans beaucoup de sens.
C’est mauvais. Tini Howard n’a pas su bien caractériser le cauchemar de Selina, qui n’a guère de sens en soi, en fait. La voir former un jeune Batman est lourd, sa soeur en Sister Zero reste un moment gênant, et le jeune Joker est naze. La fin veut se raccrocher au futur crossover avec Batman, mais ça tombe à côté.
Idem pour le graphisme de Leila Leiz, qui est travaillé mais ne m’accroche pas, et semble souvent fade.
