L’été prochain, l’éditeur Marvel Comics publiera la mini-série Max Ride: First Flight adaptant la série de romans Maxiun Ride de l’auteur James Patterson.
« Max, 14 ans, vit dans une maison perdue dans la nature avec sa « famille ». Celle-ci se compose de cinq enfants issus, comme elle, d’expériences de l’École, et dotés de pouvoirs particuliers. Un jour, des créatures mi-hommes mi-loups kidnappent la benjamine du groupe et la ramènent à l’École. Max et les autres enfants sont rapidement capturés mais parviennent à s’échapper. Ils arrivent à l’Institut, où Max trouve des informations sur les parents des autres, mais rien sur elle. Max est perplexe : d’où vient-elle ? doit-elle vraiment sauver le monde, comme elle l’a entendu à l’École ? Qui est cette mystérieuse Voix qui lui parle en permanence? »
Cette première mini-série en 5 chapitres a été confiée à la scénariste Marguerite Bennett et au dessinateur Alex Sanchez. La couverture du premier numéro est signée Stephanie Hans.
