Pas mauvais, mais pas enthousiasmant. Passable, peut-on dire, et en soi d’un intérêt trop minime. Alyssa Wong s’empare ainsi de Psylocke, alias Kwannon qui erre comme ninja badass proche des enfants traumatisés depuis l’ère Krakoa. Ici, on la voit sauver une jeune fille enlevée parce que son père l’a payée, même s’il est anti-Mutant. Cyclope exige qu’elle prenne des vacances, elle suit en grognant, elle couche avec Scalphunter et manque de le tuer en dormant à cause de ses cauchemars. Devon, jeune qu’elle a sauvé et qui est devenu son assistant geek, l’informe sur une vente à venir d’une nouvelle formule de MGH par l’AIM, elle s’y rend discrètement, voit que l’AIM met en vente cinq jeunes Mutants pour extraire en direct l’hormone pour la MGH. Elle intervient, se bat avec Pierce et Skullbuster et tue ce dernier malgré sa transformation via MGH, sans aucun remords malgré sa sauvagerie à elle.
Bof, bof. Ce n’est pas mauvais en soi, ça se lit sans déplaisir mais ça ne m’emballe pas. Tout ça est très « casual », attendu, prévisible. Sans rien de raté, mais sans rien de brillant. Le personnage de Kwannon m’intéresse très peu, son rapport à l’enfance abusée est légitime par son parcours mais c’est pas foufou et assez faiblard. Vincenzo Carratu propose des planches solides, efficaces.
Vite lu, vite oublié, même s’il n’y a rien de mal ici, et rien de bon non plus.

Ça se lit, c’est sans grand défaut mais aussi sans grande qualité. Alyssa Wong montre une Kwannon troublée par sa furie meurtrière, mais elle se reprend et guide les enfants (des Mutants devant être vendus aux enchères pour extraire l’hormone nécessaire pour l’hormone de croissance mutante) en sécurité, donc à The Factory en Alaska car son amant Scalphunter est en mission. Elle sollicite son geek Devon, qui la rencarde et elle enchaîne en interrogeant Shinobi Shaw, qui avait appris l’existence de la vente aux enchères et avait fait fuiter pour que quelqu’un vienne. Kwannon force Shinobi à l’aider à trouver les autres enfants, ils vont au mystérieux Cleaver Club où des combats illégaux sont organisés. Psylocke trouve des enfants humains et mutants, mais est mise dans l’arène. Elle se défend, Shinobi aide, elle sauve les enfants mais en revenant en Alaska, elle voit le bras de Scalphunter attaché avec un message l’invitant à venir !
Bon, ça se laisse lire. C’est assez basique, les rebondissements sont fluides, Shinobi est bien écrit et Kwannon est la badass froide en apparence mais qui cède face aux enfants. C’est basique mais correct, avec des dessins solides de Vicenzo Carratu.
Ça n’apporte rien mais c’est sans défaut.

Psylocke is hot on the trail of a mutant trafficking ring… but a dangerous new villain is tracking her. Has her past come back to haunt her, or has her investigation made her new enemies? And will the help of her lover, John Greycrow, be enough to turn the tide?
