Solide. Al Ewing livre un one-shot en lien avec son Mortal Thor dans l’événement Queen in Black, que je ne souhaite pas suivre, mais je prends quand même cet épisode sur Sigurd. Cela se passe avant The Mortal Thor #9, où Sigurd découvre l’attaque des symbiotes dirigés par Hela et Tyr, avec ce dernier intercepté par Beta-Ray Bill. Tyr appâte Bill en lui disant qu’ils veulent recréer le lien entre Midgard et les Neuf Royaumes restants, et Bill l’emmène dans une bulle hors du Temps pour parler. Finalement, Tyr révèle que recréer ce lien va tuer tous les Terriens, mais qu’ils peuvent ramener la planète Korbin de Bill et lui redonner sa place à Asgard. Bill refuse et le combat, dans la bulle et sur Terre. Alors que Sigurd tente tout pour sauver une enfant menacée par un effondrement, malgré les alertes d’une Hela en vêtements victoriens sur le fait que d’autres pourraient le faire à sa place. Sigurd s’acharne, mais l’enfant est morte – mais Sigurd conteste en disant que la Mort n’est pas dure, c’est la Vie qui l’est, parce qu’elle rend les choses difficiles à perdre. Hela est touchée et le laisse, en ramenant l’enfant à la vie.
C’est bien. Le segment sur Beta-Ray Bill est un peu simple, et manque de profondeur alors que Bill est supposé être le remplaçant officiel de Thor dans l’imaginaire collectif, mais je suppose qu’on le voit plus au cœur de Queen in Black. Le passage sur Sigurd est basique mais efficace, avec un Sigurd touchant et une Hela avec de l’émotion aussi. Sergio Davila livre de belles planches, dynamiques et agréables.

Mineur et pas indispensable, mais sympathique.
