Erik Larsen is returning to writing Spider-Man Noir, a new mini-series from Marvel Comics launching in October, to be drawn by Andrea Broccardo. Before Larsen co-founded Image Comics, he was best known for drawing and writing Spider-Man for the company. But that was over thirty years ago.

Sympathique et dynamique lancement. Erik Larsen s’empare du Spider-Man Noir, qui évoque rapidement ses errances multiverselles et qui revient chez lui. Et 1939 est une année difficile : quasi expulsé, largué par MJ, suivi par Tante May malade mais qui sait pour son identité, et sans contrat pour son job de détective privé. Il s’en prend au Scorpion Gang, dont certains meurent dans une bagarre brutale où il glisse de nombreuses piques. Il file ensuite, et a chez lui une cliente enfin : Gwen Stacy, qui veut la vérité sur son père tué aux docks alors qu’il était un policier propre, lui. Peter se lance dans l’enquête, ne comprend pas les bâtons dans les roues des policiers, puis il combat un espion nazi volant. Mais Peter comprend finalement que George Stacy était membre du Scorpion Gang, et serait mort par sa faute…
C’est bien, oui. Erik Larsen revient efficacement sur un Spider-Man, avec de bonnes vannes malgré une intrigue sombre. L’ensemble est prenant, dynamique, dans un épisode bien nourri et dense, avec un bon contexte et de jolis dessins de Andrea Broccardo.
Un bon lancement, oui.

L’intérieur est sympa, mais la couverture est magnifique.

je préfère l’intérieur à la couv. La couv ce n’est qu’effets de couleurs informatique.
Bondissant, sympathique mais un peu superficiel. Erik Larsen enchaîne avec une grosse scène d’action contre le Scorpion Gang, puis les remords de Peter qui n’ose pas avouer à sa cliente Gwen Stacy que son père George faisait partie du Gang sur son temps libre et a été tué par Spider-Man. Il gagne du temps, se confie à MJ, intervient lors d’un meeting du Parti Nazi Américain en confrontant un soldat surhumain, puis accepte de dormir dans la maison de Gwen qui se sent seule.
Bon, ça se lit, c’est sympathique et bondissant, mais ça ne me passionne pas. Le scénario est correct mais peu emballant, les adaptations molles et l’ensemble traîne malgré un bon feeling global et des dessins corrects de Andrea Broccardo.
Ça se lit sans déplaisir mais ça s’oublie vite.

Sympathique en soi, mais trop bavard et en soi un peu creux. Erik Larsen enchaîne en montrant Spider-Man Noir sauver un gamin des rues pris dans une expérience de savante folle nazie, en confrontant sa créature Plasma-Man. Il comprend que le gamin a été enlevé pour la gemme que l’enfant lui a confié ensuite, mais Peter l’a perdue. Il révèle à Gwen, avec qui il couche, que Spider-Man a tué son père, sans lui révéler son identité. May et MJ le critiquent à ce titre, et il re-combat Plasma-Man puis le stoppe. Mais Gwen lui demande ensuite d’enquêter pour trouver qui est Spider-Man…
En soi, c’est pas mal : le scénario joue bien l’adaptation de l’inimité de Gwen envers Spider-Man, le contexte social est correct, l’opposition aux Nazis aussi. Mais c’est très, très bavard, avec aussi un Peter vraiment imbuvable et peu sympathique. Marika Cresta livre des planches correctes, mais sans briller.
Pas mal en soi, mais avec de gros défauts.
Erik Larsen pourrait être crédité d’un peu plus que seulement scénariste.
The artist that filled in on Spider-Man Noir #3 had never worked from a plot before and I was asked to draw thumbnails for my story. I sent in the first 10 pages to get them started but they went ahead and laid out the rest before I could get the second batch to them. I’m sharing them all with you. (SPOILERS to those who haven’t read the third issue)

Larsen a dû utiliser les exemplaires de planches à illustrer qu’il a sous la main, pour sa série et son éditeur de base.
Et purée, c’est totalement ce qu’on retrouve dans la BD, là.
