Après une première percée chez Marvel avec Kanan: The Last Padawan, le vétéran de l’animation Greg Weisman (a qui l’ont doit notamment les réussites Spectacular Spider-Man, Young Justice ou même la dernière Star Wars: Rebel) lancera une série sur Starbrand & Nightmask, les deux jeunes protecteurs de la Terre créés par Jonathan Hickman en hommage au concept Néo-Universel. Leur première mission ? Vivre leurs vies d’étudiants.
Weisman collaborera avec un autre transfuge de l’animation, le dessinateur Dominike « Domo » Stanton, plus connu pour son travail sur l’hilarant Archer et actuellement à l’œuvre sur The Con Job aux cotés d’un certain Jimmy Palmiotti.
Déjà en décembre 2014, Starbrand et Nightmask avaient été le sujet d’un numéro spécial des Vengeurs sous l’égide de Sam Humphries et de l’artiste français Bengal.
Le premier numéro sort en décembre.

milestones. It’s a sci-fi buddy adventure, but that’s not all it is. There’s drama and pathos and romance and mystery and discovery and tragedy and even a little horror. Folks familiar with my work know I like to write densely plotted stuff, really packing stuff in. « Starbrand & Nightmask » will be no different.[/quote]
