début 2012, le créateur Rob Liefeld et le responsable éditorial Eric Stephenson décident de remettre au gout du jour plusieurs des anciennes créations Awesome Comics (Glory, Prophet, Youngblood, Bloodstrike) appartenant maintenant à Image Comics. Pour le héros Suprême dont la série la plus mémorable est la version de Alan Moore, c’est Erik Larsen (Savage Dragon) et Cory Hamsher qui ont été appelé à reprendre la barre.

Mais avant de débuter leur nouveau run, ils devront illustrer le dernier scénario du sorcier de Northampton. Ce après quoi, Larsen compte ramener par l’entremise du concept de Moore le Suprême original, image du héros des années 90 violent et insipide.

Je trouve ces pages très bonnes ! Après avoir lu dans le Mythe & Super-héros d’Alex NIKOLAVITCH paru aux Moutons Electriques un passage sur la série Supreme reprise par Alan MOORE, je suis on ne peut plus intrigué par le contenu de la série Supreme (bien que j’ai surtout l’envie de découvrir le run de MOORE).

Je me demande où il va avec ça Larsen. Son traitement de Suprema est choquant et l’intrigue entre Ethan Crane et Diana défait tout ce qu’a fait Moore. Pourquoi pas mais je ne vois que de la démolition en règle. Et je ne trouve pas ça jubilatoire. J’ose espérer qu’il n’a pas conserver des persos de Moore juste pour leur infliger ça.
