Après les Timeless, place à Timeslide avec un voyage temporel de Cable et Bishop en fil rouge. Steve Foxe et Ivan Fiorelli sont aux commandes de ce one-shot prévu pour décembre.

Written by Steve Foxe (DARK X-MEN, SPIDER-WOMAN) and drawn by Ivan Fiorelli (FANTASTIC FOUR), TIMESLIDE will star the X-Men’s resident time-travelling soldiers, Bishop and Cable, as they blaze through the timestream to prevent a villain from eliminating mutantkind from history. “I was thrilled when Tom Brevoort reached out about TIMESLIDE,” Foxe said. “These annual mega-issues have become a perennial favorite of mine, both as a standalone story of their own and as a sneak peak of what’s to come for the year ahead. Getting to structure this one around Cable and Bishop—two of my favorite mutants, and two I didn’t write much during my prior X-tenure—was icing on the chrono-cake.
“Ivan Fiorelli can truly draw anything, and this story proves that era by era on a tour of some of the X-Men’s most notable moments as a new threat opens his maw and threatens all of mutant history. Dispensable, mais sympathique. Steve Foxe scénarise le one-shot annuel de Marvel pour se projeter sur l’année à venir, avec peu d’éléments annoncés et un fond basique mais divertissant. On voit ainsi Tempus, venue d’un futur menacé et où elle est sortie de la White Hot Room, qui recrute Bishop et Cable pour stopper un des Children of the Vault créé après leur défaite face au même duo. Ce surhumain voyage dans le Temps pour absorber les moments clés des Mutants pour détruire leur existence. Bishop et Cable l’affrontentw galèrent et croisent Bronze de Exceptional X-Men dans un futur proche menacé par Revelation, le Doug Ramsey devenu héritier d’Apocalypse. Elle leur révèle des étapes de la menace, et donc des pistes des productions Marvel : les 8 Morts de Spider-Man, One World Under Doom, Rise of the New Champions (sûrement en lien avec le MCU), The Eternal Storm (Ororo ?), The False Metal, Who Waits Within The Last Egg?, Strange of Asgard, Galactic Leaders Assassinated (l’événement Imperial de Jonathan Hickman), The Time of Strife (sans Y donc), Dormammu Invasion of Earth, Ms. Marvel: Second Genesis (révélation de ses pouvoirs mutants ?), Ultimate Incursion, Who Is The Man With The Hammer?, The Ghost Fist Walks (le fantôme de Danny Rand ?), Where Is Spider-Man?, What Became of Emily Bright? (de Strange Academy), The Will of Doom, Utgard Rises, Age of Revelation (Doug), Beware The Spider-Woman, Who would trade away immortality?, XVX, 3K Gene Bomb. Finalement, le duo attire l’ennemi devant la Voûte peu après leur récente victoire, Tempus aide et l’adversaire absorbe son moment de création, s’annulant lui-même. Cable et Bishop ont vu des bouts de leur passé et s’apprécient un peu plus, et continuent la lutte globale.
Bon, ça se laisse lire. Le scénario de Steve Foxe n’est pas formidable mais correct, il gère bien Cable et Bishop qui se tirent moins dans les pattes mais s’apprécient peu. Le rapprochement est basique mais fonctionne, l’ensemble est fluide malgré une menace à l’intérêt limité et qui ne parle même pas. J’apprécie de voir Bronze ici, le flash sur les événements est limité mais Ivan Fiorelli propose des planches agréables et dynamiques.
Une projection limitée sur l’avenir mais un one-shot sympathique bien que basique.
J’ai lu une rumeur que, face au vieillissement des jeunes acteurs, et pour éviter le manque d’aura d’une équipe teen, les Young Avengers du MCU seraient nommés Champions.
