Lors du Lille Comics Festival, Alberto Ponticelli m’a avoué que le futur du comics Dial H était plus que compromis.
C’est quand même dommage quand on sait que c’est la seule série véritablement originale chez DC actuellement.

Ce qui expliquerait que le second TPB prévu dans quelques mois soit sollicité avec une pagination de plus de 200 pages, pour éventuellement boucler la série:

Deux TPB ?
Décidément, ce concept ne dure jamais longtemps.
Bon, ça a l’air bien sympa, faudrait que je zieute de plus près.

C’est pas faux mon cher Jack, mais pas tout à fait vrai non plus ; ceci dit je viens de commencer à lire la série sérieusement, et c’est pas mal du tout (euphémisme).

Ce qui est assez fascinant c’est que la combinaison entre le trait de Mateus Santolouco (dessins + encrage), renforcé par les couleurs de T&R Horie qui donne une ambiance plutôt sombre, un peu sordide, plus des personnages créés par le cadran loufoques et bizarres (c’est le moins qu’on puisse dire) : donne pour résultat une histoire de super-héros (les codes sont définitivement présents) lumineuse et optimiste ; tout le contraire de ce à quoi je m’attendais.
C’est très drôle également, et en plus voir incarner un personnage principal par un gros type mal rasé est assez rare.

Cependant peut-être serez-vous intéressé par la série originale, Dial H for H.E.R.O, paru dans les années 60 ; et donc, si c’est le cas, vous pouvez lire une des aventures de Robby Reed adaptée dans les années 80 par les éditions Arédit en allant ici.

Au début des années 80 c’est au tour de Marv Wolfman et de Carmine Infantino de s’intéresser au concept avec un variation dont saura visiblement se souvenir China Miéville, si vous voulez en savoir un peu plus, c’est par ici.
